As couples struggle to conceive, many are turning to holistic practices to reduce stress and increase fertility. Today, Suzanne spoke with Monica Cox, an expert in the field of holistic health and fertility.

In this conversation, they discuss how stress can affect fertility, the benefits of holistic practices for reducing stress and increasing fertility, and tips for incorporating these practices into your daily life. Monica is a certified yoga instructor who specializes in helping couples conceive through yoga therapy. She believes that reducing stress is key when it comes to improving fertility. “Stress can have a huge impact on our bodies’ ability to conceive," she explains.

"It can cause hormonal imbalances that make it difficult for us to get pregnant." Monica Cox is a certified nutritionist who works with couples trying to conceive naturally or through assisted reproductive technology (ART). She agrees that reducing stress is essential when it comes to improving fertility: “When we’re stressed out, our bodies produce hormones like cortisol which can interfere with ovulation and conception," she says.

"It’s important for couples trying to conceive naturally or through ART to find ways of managing their stress levels." So what are some of the best ways of reducing stress?

According to Monica, yoga is one of the most effective tools for managing stress: “Yoga helps us connect with our breath and body in a way that reduces tension," she explains. "It also helps us cultivate mindfulness which allows us to be more present in the moment instead of worrying about the future or ruminating on past events."

Monica Cox recommends incorporating healthy eating habits into your lifestyle as another way of reducing stress: “Eating nutrient-dense foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean proteins helps nourish our bodies so they can better cope with stressful situations," she says. "It also provides essential vitamins and minerals which are necessary for optimal reproductive health."

In addition to these strategies for reducing stress levels, both Suzanne Proksa and Monica Cox recommend incorporating other holistic practices such as acupuncture or massage therapy into your routine as well: “These treatments help balance hormones while promoting relaxation," explains Monica Cox. "They also help improve circulation which is important for reproductive health."

Finally, both experts suggest taking time out each day just for yourself: “Taking time away from work or other commitments allows you time just for yourself so you can relax without feeling guilty. This will help reduce overall levels of anxiety which will improve your chances at conceiving naturally or through ART."
